Tamil is taught as II Language to students in other department. Various competitions like Speech contest, Essay contest, Poetry, quiz are conducted to bring out the talents of the students. Students are encouraged to participate in University level competitions and awarded with cash prizes and certificates. Students are also motivated to participate in district level and state level competitions conducted by Murasoli Trust every year. These competitions develop their language skills and help them to improve their fluency. Literary Association Meeting is conducted every year and excellent speakers are invited to deliver the lecture in literary topics. Drama, Folk dance are performed by the students. Students participate in all the awareness programmes and prove their skills in Drawing and Rangoli competitions.

The department has qualified and experienced faculty members with broader vision and linguistic knowledge. We produce centum results in Tamil.
